Debut CD release " Whispers in the Wind "....available from this site
" You hung my bloodline from a tree this birth right is a shameful place, shame's the veil that hides the face....
You broke my heart a thousand times, when I hear a voice that sounds like mine, I'm bound and gagged
with guilt and shame....a blameless soul without a name.....
You blind my eyes I cannot see, this birthright is a shameful place, shame's the veil that hides the face...."
Muddy World- Michael Troy ( copyright )
The Southcoast Tribune: Chuck Gregory, editor
" Michael Troy's 1998 CD is an exciting collage of life experiences put to microphone and ear with inspiration and care......professionally prepared, the artist has a tonal quality reminiscent of Bob Dylan in the days when you could understand him, and also, Phil Ochs' brazen stern bites of castigation.
Troy's gravelly voice leaves you breathless with anticipation of each suceeding note. He is not just conveying music; he is singing you a story.
There are 13 cuts on this Mike Laureano engineered and mastered disc, which was recorded at Sunset studios in Wakefield, RI.....
There isnt one song that should have been excluded in this personal collection.....Troy authored each piece using pen, paper and his mind's brush strokes. Together they allow the listener to enjoy vivid head pictures, as each song becomes a painted picture of the artists conception of a life experience....
Michael Troy has a masterpiece in this CD. "

THE TRACKS.....( reviewed by Darkfluorite )
TALK RADIO......great lyrics, upbeat melody and strumming
but the music belies the sadness in the lyrics of
a man remembering his life and all he has seen and done......this song has beautiful chord changes and
makes your hair stand on end !
DEAR WALTER.....A pretty and poignant ode to friendship
...." the path is overgrowing, will I open up my door
and see my old friend walking in again....."
LIZZIE.....upbeat folk song which really shows what Michael
can do with a guitar...great picking.....this song is
Michael's interpretation of the Lizzie Borden story.....
" she took his coat, he took some time to relax...
she kissed his cheek...then she gave him the axe....."
Another cheerful song which belies the nature of its content....wonderful
WHISPERS IN THE WIND (butterfly )...this song is so beautiful...." Butterfly's a beautiful thing, just
a whisper in the wind"...another great self-penned
melody with exquisite lyrics
MUDDY WORLD....this is a song of pain....

who all went before me......" this is an incredibly
moving song about loss...." God let no soul die in vain
....let the angel of mercy hold close their names...."
...strong and powerful lyrics, truly magnificent.
FURROWS IN THE WIND....Here Michael tells a personal story...tinged with sadness..." his children hardly

virtues of the man....."
