1/ WHEN DID YOU LEARN TO PLAY AND ARE YOU SELF-TAUGHT?
I may have been 12-13 years old when I first started to play. Sharing first chords to pop songs, three maybe four chords and you're on your way.
I am self taught.
2/ WHAT INSPIRED YOU INTEREST IN MUSIC?
Maybe my oldest brothers interest in music inspired me and my mothers old country and western records...as a housewife and mother, who would play some of those old Hank Williams and Jim Reeves albums over and over...I was about 3 or 4 , learned all the lyrics and ( so Im told ) would sing to her. She would like that !
3/ WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
So many....I can only touch on the obvious:
John Hurt and Gary Davis ( guitar styles ), Norman Blake's a favourite, Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Cat Stevens, Tom Waits etc...
4/ WHAT WAS THE STORY BEHIND MUDDY WORLD? IT IS AN INTENSLY PERSONAL SONG .CAN YOU GIVE MORE INFO?

My guitar's an old friend, we sing together.

A) A lot of " I'm sorrys "...." If i knew then what I know nows "...But no regrets.
B) Because, if things were different, what would the difference be?? Which friend or loved one could I deny. Looking back has never stopped a clock...

Walter was a lifelong friend since 2nd grade til July 20th 1995, the day he passed....
Walter was a hearty laugh, good conversationalist and a consoling soul who left behind a lot of good memories.
